Dial Daily Bread

Dear Friends of "Dial Daily Bread":

Number Two of the “Ten Truths That Make the 1888 Message Unique” is the revelation of the High Priestly ministry of Christ in His heavenly sanctuary:

He is working 24 hours a day seven days a week in a special work that impinges on every person in the world: He is drawing “all men” to repentance.

This is evident in Romans 2:4: “Despises thou the riches of [Christ’s] goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”

There was the lady who went to church every Sabbath and prayer meeting, asking the church to pray for her husband who was not a Sabbath-keeper nor was he converted.

Then one Sabbath morning he came down the steps before breakfast dressed in his good suit, instead of to go to work. She was shocked.

“What does this mean, darling?” she asked. “I am going to church with you and the children!”

“But darling, if you lose your job because of the Sabbath, how will we make the car payments, and the house payments, and pay for our vacation?”

Husband stopped halfway down the steps; never said a word; went back up and put on his work clothes, and that was the end. All this while the Holy Spirit had been leading him to repentance; but now she blew it by unbelief.

Jesus promised us, “Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” (Matt. 21:22). The un-believing heart is “at enmity” with God even before we pray.

The Lord willing, more tomorrow.
